Dave Davies van The Kinks heeft zo goed als uitgesloten dat er ooit nog een reünie van de band zal plaatsvinden. Hij zei onlangs in een interview dat hij gek op zijn broers is, maar niet met ze door één deur kan. Vooral de relatie met zijn broer Ray is niet al te best. Het was Ray die afgelopen april tijdens een ontmoeting de suggestie deed om weer samen te gaan spelen, Dave wees dit resoluut af.
Dave zei dat hij veel van zijn broer houdt, maar kan niet lang bij hem in de buurt zijn. Dave: “How could I not love my own brother? I just can’t stand to be with him. About an hour with Ray’s my limit, so it would be a very short reunion.” Dave zei ook dat hij niet te lang terugkijkt op zijn tijd bij de band omdat hij daar depressief van wordt. “I try not to think about those days. When I hear it on the radio, I get excited, until you think about the way things really were – the bad contracts, the arguments, beating people up, getting beaten up, all the shit. But, in the end, hopefully, it will only be the music that is left.”
